An interesting read, showing that the issue is as contentious as ever. I still think the best solution is getting rid of state marriage entirely, replacing it with civil unions for all (with a few safeguards to make sure that we don't have two male CEOs "marrying" for tax benefits), and making marriage a wholly church/religious institution. Let those who only want straight marriages get married in their churches and pass whatever judgment they wish on others, and let the more open minded folks get married in more open minded churches, straight or gay.
